Hardware Hunter does the refreshing on a schedule. Here's the cadence, what a scan does, and what you can trigger yourself.

## How often scans run

- **Free tier:** every 24 hours.
- **Pro and Lifetime:** every 2 hours.

A hunt's scan cadence is fixed to your tier — you can't set a custom interval. Upgrade to Pro for the faster cadence.

## What a scan does

Each scan pulls listings from the live sources ([see what's live](/support/known-limitations)), removes duplicates, and evaluates only the listings you haven't seen before. New matches get scored and land in your results feed; the ones that clear your bar become alerts.

Because only new listings are evaluated, you won't get the same alert twice — a listing you've already seen is tracked by ID and skipped in future scans.

## Manual scans

You can request a scan of a specific hunt on demand. A few things to know, stated plainly:

- **A manual scan request only records the request** — it doesn't run providers immediately. Results land on the next scheduled scan cycle (daily on Free, every 2 hours on paid). Don't expect results in the next minute.
- **Free tier: one manual scan per hunt per day.** Paid plans: unlimited.
- **The hunt must be active.** A paused hunt won't take a manual scan request.

There's no "scan now" button in the UI — manual scans are triggered from the API. If you're on the free tier and need more frequent coverage, the honest answer is that upgrading to Pro is what buys the 2-hour cadence.
