Known Limitations

This is the honest list of what isn't there yet. We'd rather you know the limits up front than find them the hard way. If a limitation here is a dealbreaker for you, tell us — demand is how things get prioritized.

Sources

Hardware Hunter scans a rotating set of marketplaces, and not all of them are live at once:

• Live: eBay, Slickdeals, and Woot, plus Apple's refurb store for Macs.
• Currently down: Reddit (r/homelabsales, r/hardwareswap), Best Buy, ServerPartDeals, and Newegg open-box. The scanners exist, but the sources aren't reachable right now. Hunts that include them simply wait — you'll see results from the sources that are live.

This is why a hunt's results can be thinner on some days than the marketing pages imply.

Notifications

• Free tier gets no instant alerts — not even instant email. The daily email digest is the Free notification path, and it's being rolled out in stages. If your account isn't receiving one yet, it's not a bug; it's rollout order.
• ntfy is ntfy.sh only. Self-hosted ntfy servers aren't supported yet.
• No quiet hours. You can't schedule when alerts fire. Pausing a hunt is the workaround.

Scans

• Manual scans aren't instant. A manual scan request only records a timestamp; results appear on the next scheduled cycle (daily on Free, every 2 hours on paid). Don't expect results in the next minute.
• Free tier: one manual scan per hunt per day.

Billing

• No automated refunds. Cancelling a Pro subscription keeps access through the end of the paid period. If you believe you're owed a refund, email [email protected] — refunds are handled manually, not by a button.

Product

• No public status page. We don't publish a separate status dashboard yet. If something looks broken, check Status & Escalation and email us.
